Common questions

Is it worth fixing an older MacBook?

Often, yes. A board-level repair usually costs far less than a new laptop. If the repair would cost more than the machine is worth, we'll tell you.

Can you recover files from a dead MacBook?

On many models, yes. On Apple silicon and T2 Macs the storage is soldered to the board and encrypted, so the board usually has to be repaired to get your files back — which is the work we do.

What should I do after a spill?

Shut it down, unplug it, and don't keep turning it on to check. Bring it in as soon as you can — corrosion keeps spreading even after the liquid dries.

Do you need my password?

Only if you want us to fully test it after the repair. You can also set up a guest account for testing instead.
