Repair terms & warranty
These terms apply to every repair at InitEverest. We've kept them as plain as possible. If anything is unclear, ask us before you leave your device — we're happy to explain.

01Quotes and approval
We give you a price before we start any work. If we find another problem during the repair that would change the price, we stop and contact you first. Nothing extra is done or charged without your approval.
02Diagnostics
We'll tell you before we begin whether there's a fee to diagnose your device. If you go ahead with the repair, any diagnostic fee is applied to the repair price.
03Parts
Depending on your device, there may be more than one part option, such as original manufacturer parts or high-quality aftermarket parts. We explain the options and price for each before you decide.
Some newer phones, including recent iPhones, may show a message in Settings after a screen, battery or camera replacement. This is normal and doesn't affect how the part works. We'll tell you if your repair is likely to show one.
You can ask for your old parts back when you drop off your device, except parts we're required to return to a supplier.
04Your data
Please back up your device before you bring it in, if it still turns on. Most repairs don't affect your data, but any repair carries some risk, and devices that are already damaged can fail during repair. We aren't responsible for lost data.
Data recovery from damaged devices is never guaranteed. Our privacy policy explains how we handle what's on your device.
05Our warranty
Repairs come with a 90-day warranty on the parts we installed and our workmanship, starting the day you pick up your device. If the part we replaced fails during that time because of a defect or our work, we'll repair it again at no charge.
The warranty doesn't cover:
- New physical damage, such as drops, cracks or pressure damage after the repair
- New liquid damage
- Devices opened or repaired by anyone else after our repair
- Software problems unrelated to the repair
- Normal battery wear over time
Liquid-damaged and board-level repairs. Corrosion from liquid can keep affecting other components after a repair. For these devices, the warranty covers the specific parts and work we did, not other problems that appear later from the original damage.
06Water resistance and manufacturer warranties
Opening a phone or tablet breaks its factory water-resistance seal. We replace the seal where possible, but we can't guarantee water resistance after any repair.
A device that has been opened by an independent repair shop may no longer qualify for some manufacturer warranty or insurance services. If your device is still under the manufacturer's warranty, check with them before choosing a third-party repair.
07Condition at drop-off
We note your device's condition when you drop it off. Devices that have been dropped, bent or exposed to liquid can have hidden problems that only show up during or after a repair. If we find one, we'll tell you before going further.
08Payment
Payment is due when you pick up your device. We accept cash and major credit and debit cards. Parts we order specially for your device may require a deposit.
09Pickup and unclaimed devices
We'll contact you when your device is ready. Please pick it up within 30 days. If a device isn't collected within 90 days after we've tried to contact you, we may recycle it or otherwise dispose of it, to the extent permitted by law. Please bring ID when you pick up a device.
10Limit of liability
To the extent permitted by law, our liability for any repair is limited to the amount you paid for that repair. Nothing in these terms limits any rights you have under New York or federal consumer protection law.
